Ernst Heinrici of Germany introduced during the 1920s an improved motor. The displacer was driven directly from the middle of the crank shaft instead of the side levers used in the original Heinrici Motor. This doubled the permitted speed to 400 rpm. This new motor was sold in six sizes from 1/50 to 1/2 horse power, and was available as late as 1940.
