Drake and Fletcher of Maidstone were an engineering company
1898 Company formed as a small engineering shop in the former premises of Drake and Muirhead
1900 June. Royal Agricultural Show at York. Showed an engine
1900 J. A. Drake designed and built the first motor car in Maidstone but although used by himself and his family, it never went into production
