1930s British Motor Boat Manufacturing Co of London (and later of Banbury) made the two-wheeled B.M.B. Cult-Mate, Hoe-Mate, and Plow-Mate garden tractors powered by JAP engines.
1936 Established as a private company.
1938 Name of Vulcan Works, Southport was changed to Brockhouse Engineering (Southport)
1947 J. Brockhouse and Co completed the purchase of British Motor Boat Manufacturing Co (B.M.B.)[1]
1955 The Southport factory had not been profitable since WWII and was closed; a new machine shop was established at West Bromwich to manufacture hydraulic transmissions
1956 Name changed - Brockhouse Engineering.
1961 Manufacturers of automatic hydraulic transmission system incorporating hydraulic torque converters for use in various industrial appliances. Makers of automatic hydraulic transmission systems. 220 employees.[2]
1964 Maker of hydraulic transmissions. Factory extended[3]
