Henry Robert Williamson was born in 1880, and received his technical education at Armstrong College, Newcastle-on-Tyne; Regent Street Polytechnic, and East Ham Technical College.
He served his apprenticeship in the Locomotive Shops of the Great Northern Railway.
In 1901 he obtained a position in the shops of Armstrong Whitworth, and in 1904 went to Vickers, Sons and Maxim.
His next position was in the Inspection Dept. of the London General Omnibus Co, and following a further period of general shop work with the New Engine Co at Acton, he was appointed Head of the Engineering Workshops at Ponders End Technical Institute.
He died in August, 1937, at the age of 57.
He was elected an Associate of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1921.
