Mr Hardman was born in Heywood, Lancs., in 1858, and until 1893 was in the employment of [[Thomas Hill and Sons]] of that town. He severed his connection with this firm to become associated with [[William Brierly and Sons]], Rochdale, but after about three years he was appointed works manager to [[Edwin Danks and Co]], Oldbury, near Birmingham. 1896 Appointed as Works Manager to Edwin Danks and Co, Oldbury, near Birmingham
1899 Made partner by Garner and Telford and the title of the firm then became Garner, Telford and Hardman.
He was also a member of the Manchester Association of Engineers and was a founder member of the Engineers Club.
