"The death of Mr John Phillips is announced as having taken place on Wednesday, December 8th, at Stow Park-avenue, Newport, Mon. Mr. Phillips was a director and departmental manager of the firm of [[Charles D. Phillips]], Ltd., Newport, Mon. He was the fourth son of the late Mr. [[Charles D. Phillips]]. J. P., and was born on October 20th, 1879. He was educated at Christ's College, Brecon, and at Brighton House School, Bristol. Mr. Phillips was a familiar figure at most of the chief agricultural shows. He was keenly interested in agriculture, and for some years farmed Church Farm, Marshfield, the tenancy of which has been in the Phillips's family for some generations. He leaves a wide circle o£ friends, to whom his death will come as a great shock. He served during the war in the Honourable Artillery Company." | "The death of Mr John C.
