On the outbreak of war in 1914 Mr. Lee returned to Great Britain and Joined the Artists Rifles. Subsequently lie was granted a commission in the Tank Corps and saw service as captain in France. From 1920 to 1927 he was employed on tests, inspection, and sales by [[Edison Accumulators|Edison Accumulators, Ltd]].
