1951 Obituary [1]
"HARRY PAGETT was associated with the firm of Messrs. Belliss and Morcom, Ltd., Birmingham, general engineers, from his apprenticeship, which he began to serve in 1901, until his retirement after forty-nine years' service.
He had been closely concerned with the Company's air compressor from its inception and had been responsible for a great deal of investigation and much research in connection with the design and development of this product. After completing his practical training in 1906 Mr. Pagett spent seven years in the drawing office before being called up at the outbreak of war in 1914 with his territorial unit, the Royal Engineers, in which he had already served for six years.
He was granted a commission as lieutenant two years later and was consecutively stationed at the wireless telegraphy training centre at Worcester and the signal depot. On his return to Messrs. Belliss and Morcom in 1919 he was made chief designer of high and low air and gas compressors and placed in charge of the drawing office of that department. Mr. Pagett was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1919 and transferred to Membership in 1944. For a number of years he had acted as part-time lecturer in engineering subjects at the Birmingham Central Technical College. He died at his home near Birmingham on 20th March 1951 at the age of sixty-five."
