HENRY COLEMAN HEAD served his apprenticeship from 1890 to 1892 with the chief engineer of the [[South Metropolitan Gas Co|South Metropolitan Gas Company]], and remained on the engineering staff of that company for a further period of five years. From 1897 to 1904, he was assistant engineer to the [[Bournemouth Gas and Water Co|Bournemouth Gas and Water Company]]. He then went to the [[Winchester Water and Gas Co|Winchester Water and Gas Company]] where he held the appointment of general manager until 1929, in which year he became managing director. HENRY COLEMAN HEAD served his apprenticeship from 1890 to 1892 with the chief engineer of the South Metropolitan Gas Company, and remained on the engineering staff of that company for a further period of five years.
