"ARTHUR MORT was born in 1875 and served his apprentice ship with the Singer Manufacturing Company, Clydebank, from 1891 to 1896. After acting as plant draughtsman to Messrs. Babcock and Wilcox, Ltd., of Renfrew, and later at the dynamo works of Messrs.
