He was born in 1902, and served his apprenticeship with the [[Daimler|Daimler Motor Company, Ltd]]., at Coventry, from 1920 to 1923, on the conclusion of which he became personal technical assistant to the assistant managing director of the [[BSA|Birmingham Small Arms Company, Ltd]]. After holding this position for five years he was appointed publicity manager to the [[Daimler|Daimler Company]]. Later he took over similar duties on behalf of the [[Lanchester Motor Co|Lanchester Motor Company, Ltd]]., and [[BSA: Cars|B.S.A. Cars, Ltd]]. He held these three appointments jointly until 1936. "REGINALD NOEL KENDAL AVELINE, whose death occurred on 7th August 1947, was elected a Graduate of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1920 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1927.
