JAMES HUMPHREY EVANS was identified with technical education throughout his professional career. He was born in 1878 and educated at University College, Cardiff, obtaining first-class honours in the mechanical engineering course of the City and Guilds College and, in addition, a first-class final teachers certificate of the College for proficiency in metalwork. | |||

Phillips]], of Newport, Monmouth, from 1896 to 1899, he continued in the latter's employment as a draughtsman for another year. He then became assistant teacher of engineering at the school of Science, Limehouse, and four years later accepted a position as teacher in the same subject at the Stanley Science and Art School, St. Pancras, with which institution he continued to be associated for over thirty years until his retirement in 1938. | |||

JAMES HUMPHREY EVANS was identified with technical education throughout his professional career. He was born in 1878 and educated at University College, Cardiff, obtaining first-class honours in the mechanical engineering course of the City and Guilds College and, in addition, a first-class final teachers certificate of the College for proficiency in metalwork.
