ARTHUR HACKETT, whose death occurred on 19th January 1945, in his sixty-seventh year, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1924, and was transferred to Membership in 1925. After gaining experience in the drawing office of [[Thomas Walker and Son|Messrs. T. Walker and Sons]], and of [[W. and T. Avery|Messrs. W. and T. Avery]], of Birmingham, he began, in 1900, his long association with [[Cadbury Brothers|Messrs. ARTHUR HACKETT, whose death occurred on 19th January 1945, in his sixty-seventh year, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1924, and was transferred to Membership in 1925. After gaining experience in the drawing office of Messrs. T. Walker and Sons, and of Messrs. W. and T. Avery, of Birmingham, he began, in 1900, his long association with Messrs. Cadbury Brothers, at Bourneville, which lasted for nearly forty years, his first position being that of draughtsman and assistant engineer.
