Post-WWI Frederick Gilbert Mitchell won his first contract to supply a coal handling plant to Birmingham Corporation[1]

1956 Formation of joint venture with AMF Atomics Inc of USA to equip nuclear power stations[3]
1958 Formed consortium with Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co to design and build nuclear powered merchant ships[4]
1963 Announced a design of a light water reactor with steam cooling which they regarded as superior to the integral boiling water reactor.
1963 Announced intention to float Mitchell Construction Co [5]
c.1971 receiver appointed. John M. Henderson and Co was acquired by Hambros which brought the company to market[6]
