1944 Died. 'Mr. Walter Joseph Slingsby, for over 50 years manager of H. C. Slingsby, truck and ladder makers, Preston Street, Bradford, died yesterday his home Shipley, aged 68. He had been captain, vice-president, and honorary life member of Shipley Golf Club and was a member Bradford County Conservative Club and of Shipley Bowling Green Club.'[3]
