Patrick Higgins (1825-1882) was an Irish-born railway contractor and Australian politician.
1825 Born at Sligo in Connaught to John Higgins and Margaret Lunuy.
1852 Emigrated to Victoria, Australia, where he built a goldfields road in 1853.
1855 Married Rose Lynch and they had one son.
From 1857 he worked on railway construction including the Melbourne and Suburban Railway Co
1866 Moved to New South Wales.
Director of the Sydney Tramway and Omnibus Co.
In 1880 he was appointed to the New South Wales Legislative Council, where he remained until his death in 1882.
1882 January 28th. died.
