GEORGE HEATON DAGLISH, born at Southport on the 31st August, 1839, died at Liverpool on the 12th July, 1913.
Having served his apprenticeship with Hick, Hargreaves and Co, of Bolton, he eventually became a member of the firm of Robert Daglish and Co, engineers and founders, of St. Helens, of which his uncle was senior partner.
From 1866 until his retirement in 1882, he was responsible for the design and manufacture of colliery machinery, gold-mining stamps and chemical plants.
Mr. Daglish was elected a Member of The Institution on the 2nd May, 1876.
