1984 GKN Replacement Services Ltd. changed its name to GKN Autoparts Distribution Ltd.

1986 The automotive parts distribution business of Quinton Hazell[1]/ Burmah Oil Co was subject to a management buyout and adopted the name Partco Group; the company had 300 branches nationwide[2]

1989 Partco Ltd acquired GKN Autoparts, except for some businesses that Partco did not want

1994 Flotation of the company[3]

1995 Made its second acquisition since flotation: Downey Autoparts[4]

1995 The company became Partco AutoParts Ltd.
