Shipbuilder

1839 Launched a small iron paddle steamer named the 'Star' from his yard below the Lawe Top.

1842 Launched the world's first steam collier - the 'Bedlington' - length 135 feet

1859 Closed. by this time they had launched 99 iron vessels
