Sidney Marmaduke Stuart-Turner of Stuart Turner and Co was an English engineer.
1869 May 9th. Baptised at Shepherds Bush the son of William Frank Marmaduke Turner, a Carpenter, and his wife Ellen

Established an engineering company in Jersey
1891 Sydney Stuart Turner living at La Solitude, St Aubins Road, St Brelade, Jersey (age 22 born Shepherds Bush), a Marine Engineer. With his widowed mother Emma Margery (age 43 born Middlesex) and two brothers and two sisters.
1897 Left Jersey top work at Shiplake Court, near Henley upon Thames. It was while working at Shiplake that Stuart Turner designed his No.1 Model Steam Engine. He drew up the patterns which he then sent away to be cast. On their return he machined and assembled them and soon showed the finished model at a local exhibition. He then approached Percival Marshall the editor of Model Engineer magazine who wrote an article about the engine.
1898 The coverage of which bought an immediate response and orders for sets of castings flooded in, and a business was established in 1898.
1901 Living at Shiplake Court Cottage, Shiplake (age 32 born Shepherd Bush), an Electrical Engineer. With his wife Lucille Adela (age 29 born St Heliers, Jersey) and their daughter Kathleen Mona (age 2 born Shiplake). [1]
1903 Joined up with Alexander Frederick Plint
1905 Premises in Duke Street, Henley
1908 Formed Stuart Turner and Co
1911 Living at 43 Market Place, Henley on Thames (age 41 born Shepherds Bush), Managing Director of Electrical Engineers. With his wife Lucille Adele (age 39 born St Helier) and their daughter Kathleen Mona (age 12 born Shiplake). Plus a visitor. [2]
