1974 British Ropes changed the name of the parent company to Bridon Ltd, with four subsidiary companies in the UK and Europe, comprising British Ropes, Bridon Wire, Bridon Fibres and Plastics and Bridon Engineering.
1984 Acquired the wire businesses of Martin-Black[1]
1989 Acquired Lionweld Kennedy, Richard Johnson and Nephew and Fox Wire
2008 FKI was acquired by Melrose
