1934 Founded as Eastern Counties Preserves by Mr Philip B. Lockwood.[1]

The company grew with the horticultural industry in the most productive area of the country, Lincolnshire.[2]

1940 Eastern Counties Preserves was in liquidation[3]

1940 Eastern Counties Preserves (1940) Ltd was incorporated as fruit and vegetable canners

1948 Lockwood Foods Ltd was incorporated, presumably acquiring Eastern Counties Preserves (1940)

1953 Lockwood Sales Ltd, a subsidiary, was incorporated; later in the year Lockwood Fruit Farms Ltd, another subsidiary, was incorporated

1958 Lockwood Italiana S.p.A., a subsidiary, was incorporated

1960 Brian, Jenks and Co Ltd, an associated company, was incorporated as sales agents for the company

1960 Lockwood Foods incorporated as a public company

1981 Acquired by Hillsdown Holdings
