Nicholas Kilburn (c1843-1923)
1923 December. Died. 'Mr Nicholas Kilburn, Mus. Doc., Bishop Auckland, for many years conductor of the Choral Societies of Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and Bishop Auckland, died early this morning, aged 80. Deceased, who was chairman of the local magistrates, presided at the police court yesterday. He was head of the engineering firm of Langford, Gardiner and Co., Ltd., Bishop Auckland, and father of Mr. Paul Kilburn, conductor of the Royal Albert Hall orchestra, and Mr. Drysdale Kilburn, of Shaw and Kilburn, a motor firm.
