William Marshall Campbell Callender

1859 Born in Govan, son of William Ormiston Callender and his wife Jean nee Marshall[1]

1881 Bitumen Manufacturer, lived with his parents in Hammersmith[2]

1881 Developed vulcanized bitumen which his father patented.

Moved to Guernsey

1893 Patented a material made from skimmed milk which could be substitute for bone or celluloid. Several more patents followed on various subjects

1911 Research chemist, employer, living in Guernsey[3]

1912 Patented a method of making isoprene or similar hydrocarbons.
