1844 Born in Birmingham the son of Thomas Bayliss, a Butcher and his wife Charlotte

1868 Worked for Coventry Machinists Co

1874 Set up as Bayliss, Thomas and Slaughter

1881 Living at Cromwell Street, Coventry: Thomas Bayliss (age 37 born Birmingham), a Bicycle Manufacturer. With his wife Rosina (age 37 born Birmingham) and their son Charles T. (age 16 born Birmingham), a Mechanic, and James W. (age 13 born Birmingham). Also his married sisters and some nephews and nieces (surname of Duncan). [1]

1896 July. Listed of Sherborne House, Butts, Coventry. Councillor and Managing Director of Bayliss, Thomas and Co.[2]

1901 Listed as a Cycle Manufacturer and employer.[3]
