Wrought iron arch bridge with three spans over the River Tyne.

Length over abutments 238 ft. Length between abutments 198 ft.

Completed 1876. Designed by George Gordon Page. Contractor: D. W. Stansfield of Carlisle. Resident Engineer: Robert Nunn.

The piers are made from specially-moulded firebricks. Their foundation are cast iron cylinders 5 ft 6" sunk deep in the clay.
