Exeter Railway

  • This 8.75 line was formerly known as the Exeter, Teign Valley and Chagford Railway but they changed the name when the Chagford extension was abandoned in 1898. The line opened in 1903 linking Exeter with Christow on the Teign Valley Railway. [1]
  • 1903 The line, 8 miles in length, was opened for traffic on June 30th and is to be worked by the Great Western Railway company in perpetuity. [2]
