1937 Steel wire manufacturers: Fircone Steel Wire. [2]

1947 Acquired by British Lead Mills Ltd[3].

1953 Became part of Firth Cleveland group when it was incorporated[4]

1972 GKN acquired Firth Cleveland

1974 K. G. Hann became chairman in succession of Mr R. Ripley who remained on the board. Mr M. H. Williams, director-in-charge of Wire and Nail Division at GKN, joined the board.
