Walter Vaughan Morgan of the Morgan Crucible Co
c.1832 Born son of Thomas Morgan, hostel keeper of Abergavenny[1] and his wife Marianne nee Vaughan.
c.1846 Joined National Provincial Bank of England
c.1852 By the time he was 20 he was chief cashier in the bank's Manchester branch
1855 Left the bank to join 5 of his brothers in London. They established Morgan Brothers, bankers and merchants and founded the Morgan Crucible Works in Battersea and established 2 trade journals (via a publishing company, Morgan Brothers (Publishers)).
1861 Thos V Morgan 37, lived in Chelsea with Walter V Morgan 29, merchant, Edwd V Morgan 22 [2]
1873 became a Donation Governor of Christ's Hospital
1891 Made his home in Christ's Hospital after he was elected Treasurer
1891 Treasurer of Christ's Hospital, living in Allhallows Barking, London City[3]
1892 Elected Alderman of Cordwainer Ward in the City of London
1900-1 Sheriff of London
