Thomas Chadwick (1830-1886) of Bradbury and Co.

Orphaned age 6, and adopted by an Uncle and Aunt. He served his apprenticeship at Platt Brothers. In 1860 he was involved in manufacturing sewing machines in Werneth, later forming a short lived partnership with W. Jones. Joined Bradbury & Co in 1864, and in 1874 he became joint Managing Director of the new Public Limited Company - Bradbury & Co Ltd. His name appears on many of the patent applications. He was a local Alderman on Oldham Town Council.[1]
