John W. T. Walsh, M.A. (Oxon.), D.Sc.(London), M.I.E.E., Illumination engineer

Educated at Hampton Grammar Sch.

Merton College, Oxford.

Joined the National Physical Laboratory

1916 With Clifford Copland Paterson, developed the Paterson–Walsh electric height finder.

Became Principal Scientific Officer, National Physical Laboratory (Elect. Dept.).

1939 Lately Hon. Sec., International Commission on Illumination, now Member of Executive; Past-Pres., Illuminating Engingeering Society.

1951 Presented the Trotter-Paterson Memorial lecture on the "The Early Years of Illuminating Engineering in Great Britain"[1]

c1962 Died
