1967 Awarded Queens Award for Industry[1]

1969 Produced Quantimet, image analyzing computer, which was used by Vokes for analyzing contaminants in lubricating oil to assess filter performance[2]

1971 Queens Award for technology for the crystal-pulling apparatus for gallium phosphide production and for the image analyzing computer[3]

1973 Declined an opportunity to acquire Cambridge Instrument Co

1975 Scientific and Medical Instruments was merged with a private company Metals Research and renamed Cambridge Instrument Co[4]
