1918 The Rolled On (R.O.) Closure was introduced in the USA for a range of products from solid foods to liquid medicines
1929 The Northern Aluminium Co started to manufacture the RO Closure in the UK
By 1935 The West Bromwich works turned out 100 million closures per year
1936 The company was incorporated as a public company. Northern Aluminium sold its Metal Seals Department to the company but remained the main supplier of raw material.
1937 Started to manufacture sealing machines, which the company already designed[1].
WWII Managed a munitions factory near to the company's own factory. A subsidiary company, which had been purchased as insurance against the main factory being damaged[2], was employed on work of "great national significance"; the interest in this company was sold at profit in 1945[3]
1949 Acquired New London Manufacturing and Plating Co[4]
1959 Merged with John Dale Ltd to form Metal Closures Group[5] [6]. Metal Closures continued as the name of the operating company.
1989 Metal Closures Ltd was renamed MCG Closures Ltd
