of Greenock and Wallsend

1984 British Shipbuilders launched its company to build single engines, Clark Kincaid, formed from the Greenock firm John G. Kincaid and Co, and the Wallsend firm, Clark Hawthorn. Clark Kincaid was now the only slow-speed engine builder on the UK mainland and assembly and testing of the engines would be concentrated at Greenock. It was expected to build about ten new engines a year, geared to the demands of BS merchant shipyards.[1]
