1875 Manufacture every description of Railway Wagons. South Yorkshire Railway Wagon Works, Jumble Lane, Barnsley.[1]

1909 Listed in Slater's Directory as 'Punch maker' at 93 Travis Street, This was on the north side of the street immediately before Baker Street. Next door at No. 85 was William Henry Taylor, box maker. The 1922 O.S. map shows a narrow building, approx 30 ft by 120 ft at the assumed location of Gittus's works
