Leopoldstadt Power Station, Vienna
This entry refers to the electric lighting station at Leopoldstadt, one of two built in the early 1890s by the Allgemeine Oesterreichische Elektricitats Gesellschaft, the other station being at at Neubad. The installation was the work of Siemens and Halske. The station initially contained four 500 horse-power engines, built by L. Lang and Co., of Budapest, to the designs of A. Collmann of Vienna. The station was described and illustrated in Engineering 1895/02/22.
