1933 The company has its origins in the Mecca Agency Limited, a company co-founded by Carl L. Heimann and Byron Davies to operate the recently created dance hall chain Mecca Dancing

1970 Operated city centre cafes and restaurants, cabaret and booking agencies, the Miss World competition, 80 dance halls, 80 bingo halls, ice and roller skating rinks, a chain of betting shops; acquired by Grand Metropolitan Hotels[1]
