Hall and Kay of Stockport Road, Ashton-under-Lyne were producers of equipment for the cotton industry. Later became air conditioning and ventilation engineers.

1937 Patent hank rivet bush manufacturers [1]

1960 Acquired by Spark Holdings[2],

1962 Acquired H. Cheetham and Co of Oldham, heating engineers

1963 Acquired Electric House (1955) Ltd of Denton, Manchester, electrical contractors[3]. Hall and Kay would offer a full range of heating, air conditioning and ventilation services, and electrical equipment and wiring, to engineers, architects and surveyors.

1970 Won the largest contract in the company's 92 year history[4]
