1894 Taken over by the newly formed Cycle Components Manufacturing Co[2]. 'HUDSON & CO. (LIMITED) was incorporated in the year 1892, for the purpose of acquiring, as a going concern, the business of Hudson and Co., manufacturers of Bicycle Rim Tubing, and of Seamless Steel Tubes. Included in this purchase are the valuable leasehold premises, known as the Excelsior Works, Selly Oak, and Bournbrook. The Selly Oak works have an area of 3,055 square yards. with an unexpired lease of thirty-eight years, the works at Bournbrook cover an area of 11,504 square yards, and have an unexpired lease of ninety-seven years...'[3]
