1960 A jointly-owned company was formed by Metal Box Co and John Waddington Ltd to handle the manufacture and sales development of paper containers for packaging liquids, fruit, etc [1]

A factory would be built at Scunthorpe[2]

1961 A jointly-owned company, Liquid Packaging Ltd, was formed by Metal Box Co, John Waddington Ltd and International Paper Co of New York, to handle the distribution and sale of machines for making and filling Pure-Pak paper containers for liquids[3]
