1912 The Frodingham plant grew by the absorption of neighbouring units. Frodingham Iron Co took over Appleby Iron Co to form the Appleby-Frodingham Steel Co.
1914 Iron and steel manufacturers. Specialities: forge, foundry and basic pig iron; Siemens-Martin steel; slot and conductor rails for tramways; blooms for forgings; steel for electrical purposes etc. Employees 2,000. [1]
1955 Gold mining started in Evander, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Frodingham steel was provided and still lasts in excellent condition today. (See images).
