1813 Birth of son William McNaught

1820 Moved from Paisley to Glasgow.

1820s At the instigation of John Farey produced the McNaught steam engine Indicator. [1], for which he was awarded the silver medal of the Society of Arts for Scotland

1838 Manufacture the steam engine indicators at Robertson Street, Glasgow
