Models
1949 When the company moved to Basingstoke from Isleworth, the products were limited to an engine powered tractor, model ‘A’, a small platform truck model ‘D’, in two versions -battery or engine driven, and a new development, the model ‘P’.
MODEL D. First produced in 1947 both as battery electric and petrol engine versions, discontinued in 1952 (240 built)
MODEL O. An American Lansing design platform truck- model H, later designated model O.
MODEL IMP. Tractor powered by Hotchkiss designed Morris petrol engine as used in the Bull Nosed Morris Cowley and Wallis and Steevens small road roller. First produced in 1934. Superseded later by the model A in 1945.
MODEL A (TODR 1). Early models were fitted with either Morris, Ford or Perkins engines.
FOER5 & 5.1 -Rapide. Built in c1957 in response to a contract for Swedish Railways
POEP2 & SOEP 2. Known originally as PP230, this pallet (and stillage version) were hugely popular and formed a key product in the lateral movement of palletised loads. First produced in 1954, this truck had a lifting capacity of 3000 lbs.
Compilers
Sid Penney was employed as technical instructor initially supporting LB Service engineers and then customers own maintenance personnel, before moving to the Apprentice School covering a period (1966-1994).
David Charsley served his apprenticeship as a technical illustrator before joining the publicity department (Promotions) organising exhibitions, customer events, etc,. both in the UK and Overseas. (1952-1986)
