1901 A clerk to telegraph, living in London with his grandfather, William Greene, 82, retired civil engineer, Grace Greene, 70, Rose De Medina 47, Grace A Greene 40, Marie L F Greene 40, widow, Felix J W Greene 20[3]
1903 Recruited by Ralegh Phillpotts to join what would become the Tabulator Co; in view of his "knowledge of handling small electrically operated machines", he was asked to go to America to learn about the working of Hollerith's tabulating machine. He visited the Census office as well as various commercial organisations who were using the machines[4].
1904 Carried out the first test installation at the Woolwich Arsenal but the demonstration was sabotaged by the workers and Greene had to remove the machines within a few months.
1908 He was recorded as a gentleman when he married Venetia Wigram, daughter of Alfred Money Wigram, MP, in London[5]
1909 A gentleman, on the baptism of his daughter, Grace, in London[6]
1910 Greene made a good impression with the Registrar-General who was considering how to handle the 1911 English census; Greene freely gave advice and assistance even though their was no certainty that his company would gain the contract[7]
1911 He was away from home at the time of the census[8]
1959 Published a book of reminiscences entitled The Beginning
1963 Died in Taplow; executors were Alfred David Wigram Greene, chartered civil engineer, and Alan Francis Phillpotts, solicitor[9]
