1854 Of Millwall, manufacturing chemist, with Alexander Angus Croll, Richard Laming of Millwall, and Herman Dirs Mertens of the same place, manufacturing chemists, petitioned for extension of Croll's 1840 gas cleaning patent[2]

1861 William D Owen 59, sulphate candle maker, lived in Lewisham with Susan Owen 61 William Owen 37, May L A Owen 29, Charles Owen 29[3]
