David Ross MacDonald

1922 Col., M.I.N.A., V.-Pres. N.E.C. Inst., General Manager, Wood, Skinner and Co., Ltd., Shipbuilders. Ed. and Training: Dumbarton Academy and Glasgow University. Pupil with William Denny and Brothers, Dumbarton; joined Staff of Sir W. G. Armstrong, Whitworth (then Mitchell) and Co., Ltd., Newcastle-on-Tyne, becoming Chief Designer, Yard Manager and General Manager of their Walker Shipyard; 1920—General Manager, Wood, Skinner and Co.; large experience in the design and construction of all classes of Steamers, including Icebreakers, Railway Ferries, Tankers, etc. Active Member of Tyne Shipbuilders' Assoc. and Shipbuilding Federation; Commission in Volunteer Force, 1897. Commanded the 5th Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers (T.F.) at outbreak of War; now Hon. Col. of the 5th Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers. Address: The Cedars, Osborne Road, Newcastle-on-Tyne.
