1885 John Scott and Co took over the Abden Shipbuilding Yard, Kinghorn, as successors to John Key and Sons, and secured their first contract for the passenger steamer Edinburgh Castle.[1]

1901 The company was succeeded by Scott of Kinghorn Limited.
