1898 Fred T. Jane first published Jane's All the World's Fighting Ships, to assist naval officers and the general public; it became an annual reference book of information on all the world's warships.

1905 Adopted the title "Jane's Fighting Ships"

Its success led to the launch of a number of other military publications carrying the name "Jane's".

1909 Fred Jane first produced "Jane's All the World's Aircraft" as an annual publication.

Other annual publications included "Jane's Military Communications", "Jane's World Air Forces", "Jane's World Navies", and "Jane's World Railways". Periodical publications include Jane's Defence Weekly, Jane's Intelligence Review, Jane's International Defence Review, and Jane's Navy International.

1980 Jane's Publishing Co Ltd was acquired by Thomson Corporation from British Printing Corporation[1]

1988 Jane's Publishing Co Ltd was renamed Jane's Information Group Ltd

2011 Jane's Police Review was discontinued

2019 Jane's Airport Review was discontinued.

Jane's Information Group was acquired by IHS Markit
