of Luton

1831 Opened by Edward Fordham Flower at Brewery Street, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Became E. F. Flower and Sons.

Later became Flower & Sons.

1866 The Flower family became one of the largest employers in the town and achieved sales worth over £100,000.

1888 Incorporated as a Limited Company.

1954 Name change to Flowers Breweries

1956 Bernard Dixon was Chairman. 58th AGM.

1954 The brewery was acquired by J. W. Green of Luton and the name changed to Flowers Breweries, the Flower brand being retained.

1961 Brewery became part of the Whitbread empire.

1968 The Stratford-on-Avon brewery was closed and production transferred to Whitbread's Cheltenham brewery. Production of the Flowers brands has since been transferred to the Boddingtons plant where they are now part of Interbrew UK's portfolio.
