1982 Re-registered as a public company U. U. Textiles plc. Name changed to Unigroup plc.

Registered office moved to Leeds

By 1988 the principal activities of the company were building products, clothing and timber products[1]

1995 Abbot Group reversed into Unigroup in order to obtain a quotation for its KCA Drilling subsidiary[2]. Other business activities included the generation of electricity by wind farms. Other businesses were sold[3]
